What House Rules is about

Veronica is a restless stepmother in a quiet house. The moment her husband's adult son returns from college, she drafts a list of house rules. On paper it reads like household admin. In practice, every rule bends toward what she wants, and she is in no hurry to hide it.

The twist is the extra guest. His partner is staying under the same roof, so each dinner, hallway and closed door carries a little more risk. His adult stepmother, firmly in charge of her own game, clearly enjoys that. It is a battle of wills between a woman who writes the rules and a house full of people who are supposed to follow them.
